When they root up a chest full of riches, the lives of two ordinary pigs change dramatically. After a crafty banker comes to their aid, a whirlwind shopping spree nets fancy clothes, a car, and even a fine house. But does all this provide the life of ease and happiness desired by Bertha and Briggs? Sophie Aldred is the perfect narrator for a Helen Oxenbury story. She provides the slow pace and distinct enunciation necessary for a young listener to savor each event. Rhythm and rhyme stand out and are easily anticipated.
