In a refreshing production of this popular little book, the two authors alternate describing common relationship disappointments women suffer and providing a lot of astute no-nonsense advice. Though their over-the-top supportiveness at times seems aimed at middle school girls, the message is consistent and universal: Love yourself first, and don’t let the blindness of romantic attachments and low self-esteem lead you to stay connected to unacceptable men. It’s enjoyable to hear these two sharp people converse about lovesickness. They offer a sweet solution to the wrong paths many women take with uninterested, dishonest, unkind, and weird men.
