Rebecca Macauley's bouncy voice is perfect for the animated character of Becky, an imaginative, eccentric child. Each of these four stories has a bit of a musical chorus and, at the end, some personal commentary from both author and narrator. " Two Gorillas" has a jungle-beat refrain and a gorilla laugh as it tells the story of Becky's loved, abused toys. " Fairy Bread" plays tinkling music as Becky solves the problem of too much birthday treat. In " The Magic Wand" Becky is afraid her magic wand has turned her brother into a cat. In " The Puppet Show," Becky suffers a classic let down after she stages a huge production. All ranges of tone and emotion are well defined by Macauley.
