Becky Miller, the frazzled mother of a toddler, has trouble balancing her life amid her multiple responsibilities: being a mom, wife, and director of women's ministry of her church; taking care of her cantankerous mother-in-law; and moving into a new house. Her continuous frustration is well expressed in the performance of Johanna Parker. The strong emotions felt by this character come through clearly to the listener. Parker's voice has a charming quality that makes all the characters endearing. Although she does express tension in parts of the story, she also speaks in a voice of hope and love. Parker's narration helps to create interest in this funny and inspiring story. N.L. 2008 Audies Finalist © AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2008]
