IDIOT PRIDE

I've never seen truer jacket copy than the line on this story of Australian teenagers slogging through high school: "Some things just happen. That's all." Unfortunately, the "things" aren't particularly interesting or meaningful, despite narrator Dino Marnika's obvious feel for these teenaged outsiders. Lots of R-rated language and ethnic slurs are included, but most American listeners won't understand the thick Aussie slang in which "pommies, wogs and dags" enjoy "footie."
