SHARP SHEEP

Paul has lots on his mind. His mother has remarried, and, in addition to having a new dad and a stepsister, Mandy, soon he'll be a big brother. More problematic, though, is his own bullying big brother, Josh, who's none too pleased with being forced to share a room with Paul. When the baby arrives early, Mandy, Josh, and Paul are shipped off to their grandparents' house at Longstepping Farm, where tensions between the three kids come to a head. Tom Lawrence is a master of accents and ages; equally comfortable as the youngsters or the wonderful Welsh grandparents, Lawrence also does an authentic-sounding sheep's bleat. As Lawrence depicts how siblings torture and ultimately teach one another, he navigates listeners smoothly through a most satisfying story. J.C.G.
