Doctor Who is earthbound for the moment; he, Liz Shaw (his companion), and the Brigadier encounter a situation not experienced every day: a prehistoric reptilian species emerges from caves and proposes to conquer the earth. The Doctor and Liz try to thwart violence from either side. Author Malcolm Hulke was a pioneer in the Doctor Who television series, and narrator Caroline John played the original Liz on television. The collaboration between author and narrator is highly effective. John delivers vocal characterizations of the actors she once worked with and does it very well. The British ambiance is nicely evoked in her precise enunciation, and sound effects and music are low-key but expertly chosen. Jolly good show!
