Reader Rob McQuay doesn’t have a lot to do but read the lengthy discursive analyses of Heinlein as he was poised on the brink of best-sellerdom. These are mature stories published as the author was moving from some of the best juvenile sci-fi novels ever penned to his adult novels, such as Starship Troopers and Stranger in a Strange Land. With assurance McQuay reads the few characters casually delineated--a teenaged girl on the moon, a doomed survivalist on Planet Earth.
