Street life in the cities of Australia is vividly portrayed through the fictional diary of 15-year-old Simone. After her mother dies, Simone finds herself homeless on the streets of a strange city. Only her daily writing and the help of a youth worker keep her from being destroyed by poverty and drug addiction. The production features music that evokes an urban landscape and a stunning narration by Suzi Dougherty. Her authentic Australian tones help create a completely convincing portrayal of a tough-minded, smart-mouthed, vulnerable adolescent who struggles to gain control of her life and get herself "back on track."
