SIX WEEKS TO YEHIDAH

Karen Krause's buoyant tone and gentle pacing carry listeners serenely through an ever shifting universe in the maze of a young girl's subconscious mind. Yehidah has the otherworldly feel of Oz, with the psychedelia of Wonderland, but Krause keeps these alternate universes from being cartoony with rich, multidimensional characterizations and earnest compassion for the protagonist. Her high-pitched, delicate voice is a worthy match for the bright, whimsical young Annalise, and she avoids projecting flakiness by grounding her in a genuine curiosity and a generous spirit.
