THE HOODOO MAN

Ritual murder and Haitian voodoo lace this tale. THE HOODOO MAN presents graphic violence against the workaday world of being a cop. The murder of voodoo church leader Desmond St. John, a charismatic, seven-foot tall miracle worker, is the catalyst for the action. Narrator Marc Johnson animates protagonist Sergeant Starletta Duvall, her Italian-American male partner, and others populating her life. On the one hand a story of interracial love, the title also explores the invisible powers that may be invoked by ritual--even the ritual sacrifice of humans. Another good effort from the Griot line.
