LIKE NO OTHER TIME The 107th Congress and the Two Years That Changed America Forever

by | Read by Tom Daschle

History • 5.25 hrs. • Abridged • © 2003

The senator's soft, familiar voice and his proficiency with public speaking create a pleasant ambiance and an appropriate authenticity to his audiobook. Although he touts it as a history of the 107th Congress, he detours to delicious items like his definitions of republicans, democrats, conservatives, and liberals. The author's personal account of 9/11 and the anthrax-filled letter that arrived at his office a month later will bore no one. His sadness after the death of colleague Paul Wellstone fills his voice as he remembers attending the funeral. In spite of the abundant partisan rhetoric, most listeners will find both the performance and the memories of the South Dakota legislator worth their time. J.A.H.
