Ron Butler and Soneela Nankani are a great team to narrate this fantastical sequel to DRAGONS IN A BAG. Nankani portrays Kavita, a young Indian-American girl who stole a baby dragon from her brother's best friend. Listeners feel her worry as she tries to sort out how to care for the rapidly growing creature. Kavita's scratchy-voiced elderly aunty sneaks them out of the house to find magical guidance. Butler narrates alternating chapters as Jaxon, an African-American 9-year-old who is ashamed to have lost the dragon. Listeners hear his determination to reunite it with its siblings. Nankani and Butler enliven all the characters, including pigeons, an intimidating mother dragon, and a smooth-talking con man covered in blue tattoos.
