SEOULMATES Seoul, Book 2

by | Read by Greta Jung

Fiction • 9.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2021

Greta Jung narrates the story of a transcultural adoptee who has returned to Korea to search for answers, love, and happiness. Hara Wilson, an American, has been in Seoul for a few months, trying to fit in, but it's proving difficult. Jung captures Hara's complex emotions toward her birth mother, whom she has only recently met, along with the anxiety and frustration that can occur when living in an unfamiliar culture. When the man Hara has fallen in love with is deemed unsuitable in Korean culture, Jung proves adept at expressing Hara's struggles with a new set of mores. Jung's narration occasionally lacks emotional depth, making her delivery seem flat, but it is serviceable. K.M.P. © AudioFile 2022, Portland, Maine [Published: APRIL 2022]
