THE DEVIL'S TOENAIL

When 13-year-old Stevie Saunders finds a rock called a devil's toenail on the beach, he finds he's suddenly filled with an evil power that gives him the ability to be just mean enough to fit in with the cool gang at school. While Robert Glenister is a bit too old to be credible as the young Stevie, he does read this first-person account of life at a tough age with enough dry humor, tenderness, and angst to reflect a trouble-making yet lovable kid. An equally entertaining addition to the narration is the vocal enhancement that represents the devil's toenail speaking to Stevie.
