Philip McCutchan’s continuing and venerable hero, Lieutenant Tom Chatto, serves aboard a Q-ship during WWI. Disguised as a British merchant vessel, the ORSINO’s hidden guns wait for German U-boats to attack. Christopher Scott adds to the excitement of the battles by raising his voice to sound tense and alert. He gives individual voices to all the characters in this sea tale containing abundant naval lingo and details about shipboard life at the time. Since he is English, Scott’s credible accents make it easy to imagine one is listening to the crew as they work, skylark, and fight in the Mediterranean wind and sea salt.
