JERICHO'S ROAD

Elmer Kelton, celebrated and prolific author of Western fiction, has written a melodrama of sometimes violent tensions between ranchers on the Mexico-Texas border during the 1870s. By virtue of a rather conventional plot and characters--uninspired, albeit serviceable, narration prompted numerous yawns from this reviewer, though aficionados of this genre may have the opposite reaction.
