AIDAN OF OREN

As his thirteenth birthday approaches, Aidan's dreams become more vivid, his thoughts are dominated by fragments of the stories told round the fire in the evenings, and he feels none of the usual comfort from his grandmother's responses to his concerns. Thrust into the role of a quest with friends Lily and Mackenzie, Aidan feels none of the confidence that townsfolk are placing in him. Margot Dionne's narration gives voice to the uncertainty and mystery of the journey, all the while letting the innocence and exuberance of the hero shine through. Aidan may be confused by developing circumstances, but Dionne narrates a young man open to change and growing wisdom. Her pacing keeps the quest on course.
