GOING BACK TO BISBEE

by | Read by Jack Bannon

Contemporary Culture • 14.5 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

Taking us from Tucson to Bisbee, Shelton’s work explores the history, geology and ecology of southeastern Arizona. Bannon’s reading of this travelogue and memoir is somewhat mellow but keeps the listener’s attention. He dramatically expresses the author’s wonder at the human and natural worlds, as well as his enthusiasm for life in this region. To hear his description of the coyote is to see one, to hear the history of Fort Huachuca is to go on campaign against the Apache. If one can’t make the trip in person, this is the next best thing.
