IN THE DEEP END

In this second of a trilogy, high school students Coll and Art are on the brink of intimacy--Art insisting, Coll resisting. Their paths go in separate directions before the inevitable reconciliation. The story includes much teenaged angst, sex (for the first time and after), pregnancy (for Coll's friend Val), parental problems, and the unpredictable ups and downs of juvenile lives. Australian actress Nicky Talacko slips easily into the sneakers of both needy, vulnerable Coll and macho, demanding Art, and brings a rich maturity and patient understanding to Coll's mother.
