THE RIGHTEOUS MEN

While this story, loaded with elements of code-breaking, ancient secrets, and religious extremism, strikes one as imitative of THE DA VINCI CODE, Dennis Boutsikaris's narration renders authentic accents and fine-tuned timing to lend it dignity, drama, and credibility. British-born Will Monroe, Jr., an ambitious journalist, is searching for his kidnapped wife while investigating murders in Brooklyn, Seattle, Thailand, and Mumbai. Boutsikaris is an engaging narrator who conveys the story's suspense by using tonal changes and appropriate pacing to highlight important aspects of the complex plot. The melodramatic conclusion will strain listeners' credulity, but Boutsikaris effectively captures the mood, and his skillful performance is impressive.
