A FOX CALLED SORROW

by | Read by Isobelle Carmody

Children Ages 6+ • 5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2006

This gently paced fantasy, second in the Little Fur series, recounts the quest of the half-troll, half-elf Little Fur and her various animal companions as they journey to the city of Underth, a troll stronghold. While battling evil along the way, Little Fur, known for her healing skills, attempts to cure the fox Sorrow, one of her fellow travelers, who has been wounded in body and spirit. While the author's narration captures the heartache of the wanderers, Carmody's pronounced Australian accent can be difficult as she occasionally lowers her volume and drops the ending of words. Her characters' personalities are distinct, however, and listeners should easily adjust as the story is poetic and engaging. M.H.N. © AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 07/ JAN 08]
