Narrator Barbara McCulloh is a good match for the characters of Jenna and Sue, two middle-aged women who encounter adventure in Venice. Jenna is invited to be the cook for a Christian leader's one-week retreat in Venice. She takes along her sister-in-law, Sue, and they find much more awaits them than just preparing meals. Author Robin Jones Gunn intersperses the zany activities of these two women with strong Christian conviction. McCulloh brings engagement and humor to the story with her ability to take people and events off the pages and bring them to life.
