BANGKOK HAUNTS

by | Read by Glen McCready

Mystery & Suspense • 12.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2007

Despite his occasional failure to fully differentiate characters, Glen McCready turns in a fairly well-rounded performance of Burdett's third mystery featuring Thai detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep. With his friend, FBI Agent Kimberley Jones, for whom he has feelings, Sonchai searches for the killer of his former lover, Damrong, for whom he still has feelings, while firmly bedded with his current mate, Chanya. At the same time, Sonchai must deal with his corrupt boss, Vikorn, who insists that the murder investigation is secondary to the detective's primary assignment--setting up a porn movie entity. McCready makes these characters appropriately smart and funny, and is best during the nocturnal and erotic visits from Damrong's ghost.
