The best parts of this thriller are its exciting beginning and its subtle end. Thanks to Hill's sterling performance, the reviewer hung on between the two. The story begins with a DEA raid on a drug lord's lair, but it plods considerably after its principal character is hired by the State of California to investigate a DEA agent accused of the drug boss's murder. Hill is at his best during the trial, when he must be, almost simultaneously, a crotchety judge and two out-of-control opposing lawyers. As Hill switches from role to role, he doesn't miss a beat. His performance alone makes this a worthwhile experience. A.L.H. © AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 00]
