THE GIRL WITH THE BROKEN WING

by | Read by Alison Reid

Children Ages 8+ • 2 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

Twins Amanda and James are awakened in the middle of the night by an otherworldly sound. Getting up to investigate, they discover Hilary, a girl who says she has a broken wing. Narrator Alison Reid contrasts the twins--excitable James and placid Amanda--as well as creates vocal portraits of mischievous Hilary and the twins' very ordinary parents. Trouble begins when the twins hide the flamboyant Hilary, who insists she must stay with them. Soon she graces the school's Christmas pageant as a real flying angel. Nasty cousin Vickie, who's aptly portrayed with the voice of a spoiled brat, tries to expose Hilary to family and school officials. The conclusion seems ideal for an otherworldly story.
