Lifelong friends Parker, Emma, Mackensie, and Laurel played "wedding" often as children—now they’re the owners of a successful wedding-planning business, "Vows." In this first installment in Roberts’s Bride Quartet, Mackensie "Mac" Elliott, the photographer of Vows, falls for Carter Maguire, a cute but clumsy English teacher. Emily Durante's enthusiastic narration style doesn't make up for her failure to distinctly portray each of the various characters, female or male. The listening experience isn't fully saved but is helped by the fascinating details Roberts supplies on the making of a perfect wedding.
