Though a turnoff at first, the author’s in-your-face speaking style works well to deliver the message that we have what it takes to improve our finances, work, and personal lives. Listeners will tolerate the often-brutal way he calls us on the stupid things we do because he believes in our capacity to change. He comes close to sounding obnoxious at times in these spontaneous recordings (audio lectures plus a live-seminar DVD), but he’s not righteous or condescending as he urges us to work hard, be accountable, and learn from the pain we create for ourselves. Winget’s essential humanity and agitating vocal presence combine to make us believe that making a few basic changes can improve what we get out of life.
