STAR TREK: FACES OF FIRE

by | Read by Bibi Besch

Fiction • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 1992

In this Star Trek adaptation two simultaneous plots unfold: one involving a colony which the Klingons attack, another in which Capt. Kirk aids an ambassador to an alien race. Bibi Besch reads this fairly well but does not use enough variation to allow easy character differentiation. Scotty and Chekov are even hard to tell apart until the speaker's name is heard. The sound effects are excellent, and the music fits nicely into the plot, but the lack of vocal characterization spoils the entire show. Stereo is imperative for this selection as channeling is used to try to vary dialogue participants. Also a high level of concentration is necessary, making it a poor choice for commuting. J.Z.D. Ed.
