GUERILLA SEASON

by | Read by David Tredinnick

Mystery & Suspense • 11 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1996

Set in Auckland, New Zealand, this novel features lots of street language, lots of allusions to sex, lots of dead bodies, imaginative forms of execution, renegade agents, scam artists, blackmailers, maverick cops, and journalists. It's also very funny. While the cast is so rich and numerous that there's no true protagonist, once the mayhem stabilizes, the main actor turns out to be Tito Ihaka, a Maori sergeant in the Auckland Police Department. David Tredinnick is an Australian actor, and, as one would expect, his Australian characters sound just right. Admirably, so does the one American character, a Texan female. In fact, his female characters are much better than the usual male narrator's. Tredinnick's reading keeps the listener hooked in order to find out who is going to do what to whom next in this fast-paced, funny book.
