Engene is such a pro at dramatization that it's a pleasure to listen to everything he reads. This story about the often brutal game of soccer takes place in Britain and L.A. Engene handles the accents with ease and precision. The intrigue of the tale, involving a woman in a veil and a murdered goalie, is intensified by Engene's pacing and emphasis. Ian Chapel, a one-eyed British goalie, turns investigator to find out who murdered his predecessor and who's threatening his life. Soccer and mystery fans may enjoy.
