Seeing each other at a reception for Mick's Twisted Steel custom car shop, Mick, Adam, and Jessilyn decide to reconnect as lovers despite family disapproval. It's a pleasure to listen to Sasha Dunbrooke's rich, forthright voice. She nails Jessi's shoot-from-the-hip style of communication. Dropping her voice a register, she channels Adam's low commands during the BDSM scenes, and she uses a light Boston accent for Mick's more anguished dialogue. Dunbrooke is a superlative narrator for alpha males. However, her mispronunciations of the name Hamish and her poor Scottish accent somewhat detract from her performance. It would also be a challenge for any narrator to style the author's repeated, somewhat tedious messages about tolerance for the group's alternative relationship choices. Dunbrooke does her best to make self-righteous sound sexy. C.A. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine [Published: JANUARY 2016]
