CHEATERS

In this frisky, earthy, enjoyable novel of sexual politics among the young African-American middle class of contemporary Los Angeles, three charming narrators vigorously impersonate the three protagonists who tell the story. They are having an infectiously good time. However, for this listener, these actors, though admirable in other respects, are so jagged and brittle that they make my ears hurt.
