AFTERBURN

Vietnam Vet and former POW Charlie Ravich, now CEO of a telecommunications firm, is embroiled in mergers and trade with China when he meets Christina. She is just released from prison and running from the Mob. Patterson attempts to keep the story lines together; however, the abridgment has so severely disjointed the plot that the various themes never merge. The graphic torture and violent sex scenes Harrison uses to move the story along are made more vivid and gruesome by Patterson's emotionally disconnected narration.
