Mirron Willis provides well-enunciated diction as he delivers chapters on figures from 100 years of baseball history. Willis's low, serious voice is a good fit for the gravity of the topics. Essays focus on Sol White, an early player and writer; Effa Manley, an owner in the Negro Leagues, and Dick Allen, who had a tumultuous career in the Majors in the 1960s and '70s, among others.
