THE GLITTERING WORLD

In this supernatural thriller, Robert Levy creates a mystical, magical, haunting other world. Edoardo Ballerini provides the tense, suspenseful narration—including some commendable musical numbers—that raises goose bumps on listeners' flesh. Michael "Blue" Whitley returns to his hometown with three friends in order to sell his grandmother's house. As buried memories flood back to Blue, the friends' reality takes a new shape, and none of the four will ever be the same. Ballerini sets the tone for this spine-tingler with perfect pacing. The range of characters is challenging, but Ballerini rises to the occasion and fleshes out the unique dimensions of each one. His performance is as magical as Levy's fictional universe.
