Peretti's intriguing story of good and evil, set in the small town of Ashton, reveals a demonic plot to overtake the town and eventually the world. Narrator Richard Ferrone creates riveting suspense as he depicts a frustrated preacher and a news reporter as they follow clues to unravel a blackmail plot and discover what's behind the peculiar behavior of several townspeople. His descriptions of sulfur-breathing demons who battle people and angels include vivid sound effects, and his clear character transitions are smooth and believable.
