Set in Alaska, this mystery is a vehicle for masterful storytelling and an exotic location. Sled-dog racer Jesse Arnold is plunged into an adventure when she uncovers a skeleton on the site where she's building her new cabin. Fiercely independent, her personal world is shaken when roses begin to arrive anonymously, the signature of a copy-cat serial murderer. Mary Peiffer's full-bodied, expressive voice allows listeners to know the personalities of each character; her pleasing tenor is an excellent choice to carry this suspenseful presentation. While this is the ninth installment in Henry's award-winning series, it easily stands on its own, and may entice listeners to read the previous books. F.L.F.
