IVY APPLETON Prop Widow

IVY APPLETON: PROP WIDOW is a marvelous and charmingly funny debut for author B.B. Cherry and Tape Escapes, her audiobook production company. The story of Ivy Appleton, who makes a surprise visit to her husband, a prop-master on a movie set, is a nonstop romp. Barbara Benjamin-Creel's performance is superb, perfectly capturing Ivy's roller-coaster emotions. Anthony Simcoe and Andy Hallett are similarly well cast in their roles as Ivy's husband and as a gossip columnist. The narrators excel in their ability to make the reader smile with each new plot twist, while somehow retaining a realism that is never overshadowed by the story's comedy.
