CITY GIRL

A product of Recorded Books/Inspirational, CITY GIRL is the concluding episode in The Yellow Rose Trilogy. In the late 1800s, headstrong Reagan Sullivan decides to leave her life in New York City. She accepts a job as a nanny in Texas and begins an adventure that separates her from all she knows. Wick, a popular writer of Christian romances, offers nothing compelling or original in this tale of a young woman on her own. Narrator Ed Sala turns in a fine performance of a predictable plot filled with one-dimensional characters. Sala's reading saves the book from being completely humdrum, although Wick's many fans will no doubt appreciate this final installment. S.J.H.
