CLOCKERS

Richard Price creates a near-mythic confrontation between cocaine dealers--the clockers--and police. Strike Dunham wants to advance from being a mule for money and drugs, but he balks at the entry price--murder. The characters are gritty, the atmosphere and language realistic. The extraordinary narration of Joe Mantegna makes this audiobook especially thrilling, more of a performance, with every nuance of street dialect captured by a great actor.
