CODES OF BETRAYAL

The complex loyalties of Nick O’Hara--cop, father and grandson--thrust him into a web of danger spun from both his love, anger and the many disappointments of his life. Admiration for his Irish cop ex-father-in-law comes into conflict with his deep feelings for his mobster grandfather, Nicolas Ventura. Gravelly voiced Weitz performs in the manner of the old “Dragnet” series--an almost monotone report. His husky rendition of the Ventura don recalls Brando. In all, he enhances this standard fare by equipping it with a mantle of reminiscence. We have met these characters before and still enjoy them.
