COLD CASE

Scott Brick is not among the narrators who attempt to infuse each character with a distinct personality. Instead, he's a natural storyteller, whose intelligence, pacing, and inflection keep you listening avidly. This is a performance meant to be heard in a darkened living room in front of a crackling fire. Best of all, Brick becomes indistinguishable from the mystery's hero, Alan Gregory, the empathetic clinical psychologist who is recruited by a forensic group trying to solve a grisly ten-year-old murder. The case involves the mutilation murders of two teenaged girls in the Colorado countryside, and Gregory's psychological reconstruction of the crime draws him into deadly competition with a congressman whose past keeps intersecting with the crime.
