BALLYKISSANGEL The New Arrival

Listening to BALLYKISSANGEL is like being transported to a tiny, eccentric, very Irish village. Narrator Gerry O'Brien's chore is great as he creates minute nuances for each character within the community. He has a talent for subtlety despite a wide range of subjects, including the arrival of a new automated confessional; a postponed wedding and its "non-reception”; and an attempt to remove the very popular (and English) priest, Father Peter, from his post. It's all here--pub, church, farms, rain, and humor--a sheer delight, but the greatest charm is the wonderful modern parables that quietly emerge.
