COME THE SPRING

Using a recipe containing the ingredients of historical romance, and popping them into the American West, Julie Garwood has cooked up a stew that will delight her fans. (For readers who like to know in advance how much spice has been added to the dish, Garwood's sensuous scenes may be described as "mild.") Richard Ferrone tells this tall tale with an attractive, laconic drawl reminiscent of John Wayne. Though his British dialect for one female heroine is not convincing, most of his vocal characterizations are successful. This book completes a popular series.
