Elizabeth Louise narrates the third book in the Hudson Valley series, with Jason Carpenter narrating the epilogue. Clara Morgan works for a boutique firm that specializes in revitalizing struggling hotels. Archie Bryant, the proprietor of Bryant Mountain House, is certain his establishment needs no improvements. While the tension between the two is reflected in the dialogue, it's not always reflected in Louise's narration. Similarly, while Louise does a good job with the wide range of feelings that Clara experiences, her jaunty delivery doesn't match Clara's turbulent emotional core. This mismatch is indicative of the overall unevenness of the book. While the story can be enjoyed as a stand-alone title, it's not the best introduction to Clayton's work.
