Two Swedish authors writing under a pseudonym offer a unique psychological thriller featuring complex characters, time shifts, and fast-paced action. It demands a presentation as skillful and multilayered as the text. Narrator Richard Coyle proves more than equal to the task. Based on true events, the story tells of how a father's barbaric abuse so twists his family that, almost in self-defense, his three sons develop into a pack of vicious criminals whose crime spree sends shock waves through Sweden. Coyle uses subtle accents and variations of intensity to give each of the characters a distinctive voice. He effectively modulates volume and pace when needed to shift from high drama to introspection. Writing and delivery are both top-notch. Don't miss this!
