THE HULK

by | Read by David Strathairn

Science Fiction • 3 hrs. • Abridged • © 2003

Peter David puts a dark hue on Marvel Comic's green-skinned behemoth in this adaptation of the "Hulk" screenplay. David Strathairn reads the story of Dr. Bruce Banner, a physicist accidentally irradiated by gamma rays who survives to become a mindless beast wreaking havoc. Strathairn's characters are well defined, and his timing perfect. His elocution is precise, perhaps too precise. Every consonant need not be enunciated for the story to be understood, particularly in a superhero story. Most listeners, especially fans of comics and science fiction, will nevertheless enjoy this thriller and most likely beg for more. S.E.S. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: AUG/SEP 03]
