HALLOWED GROUND A Walk at Gettysburg

by | Read by Grover Gardner

History • 3 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2003

This short work is a tour of the Gettysburg battlefield. McPherson gives his audience a bit of background to the battle, but the majority of his discourse is the tour of the battlefield. McPherson, who is at Princeton last I heard, follows the chronological unfolding of the battle as he describes the sites and the monuments on the field. A nice touch is his personal insight into the events and people of this epic battle. Gardner has a relaxed and clear delivery. He is not reading a text but telling us the story of these three momentous days. M.T.F. (c) AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 03]
