DARKEST DESIRES The Makani Trilogy

Amy Landon's voice pulses with sultry drama as she narrates this trilogy of novellas, all of which feature clairvoyant surfer Makani Hisoka-O'Brien. Although she is a beautiful and talented athlete, Makani is a loner, burdened with a hidden power--the ability to instantly know any person's darkest thoughts and desires. This power brings Makani face-to-face with dark adventures, deadly strangers, and quests that may determine the course of the entire world. Landon ably captures the portentous tone that runs throughout all three novellas, introducing a welcome thread of continuity. Her male voices are somewhat stereotypical, and her portrayal of Makani is a little overdone, but she does an admirable job conveying the intensity and momentum of these fast-paced stories.
